Plum Forest Farm

In addition to working as an intern/apprentice this year at Plum Forest Farm on Vashon Island, I also implemented a WordPress-based web site for them.

Using WordPress greatly facilitates the web site owner. Not only does it empower the site owner to edit and manage their site whenever they want, but with the blog feature, you can record the history of your business with ease. My motivation in wanting clients to set up a blog is that it can serve as a reference both for the owner of the site as well as potential customers. Customers can browse the history of the company in the blog and get a more in-depth and personal feeling about the company. I think this makes it worth it.

The initial set-up cost seems prohibitive for some clients, but forward-looking budgeting is important - with a content management system such as WordPress, future site maintenance billing will be minimal. You can do the content changes yourself!

I am confident I’ll hear from Plum Forest that WordPress works tremendously well and they are astounded by the ease and power the system puts in their hands.

APMLimited.net

Angela Pirkle and I recently completed and launched the web site at www.apmlimited.net.

Angela was referred to me by Steve Garrels, another freelance designer, who had completed the identity design for APM Limited. Since the identity was fresh and APM Limited is just starting out, I wanted to keep with the new identity as much as possible and used Steve’s work as a basis for the design.

Angela and I are happy the way the site turned out. Take a look: www.apmlimited.net.
